In the spring of 2012, Lino A. Solis launched Orion Advisors, LLC, a real estate/private equity advisory firm with a real estate development/capital raise platform, which also includes energy procurement/conservation/LEED opportunities in the tri-state area. Prior to launching Orion Advisors, LLC, Lino Solis served as Counsel in the Real Estate/Finance Group at Arent Fox, LLP.  While at Arent Fox, Lino helped launch the Urban Development/Urban Retail Leasing practice at the firm while expanding the overall footprint of the firm’s finance/real estate practice group.   Prior to Arent Fox, Lino served as counsel within the Real Estate/Finance Group at Wachtel & Masyr, LLP where his primary focus was on commercial real estate development, finance, leasing transactions, franchising, lending, and P3 transactions within the urban core.

Prior to joining Wachtel & Masyr, LLP, Lino served as Vice President and General Counsel of Thor Equities, LLC, a private real estate investment trust based in New York City, where he served as Chief Legal Counsel and was responsible for leasing, corporate and governmental relationships, including P3 transactions across the company’s portfolio, including Tax Increment Financing, complex sale/leaseback transactions, fund development and investor relations under the company’s high net worth/family office  portfolio, Thor Urban Fund I and Thor Urban Fund II.  Lino’s development transactions included partnering with the South Dekalb County in Atlanta, GA, City of Detroit, City of Philadelphia, including leading the development of a business improvement district in North West Philadelphia, and partnering with the City of New Orleans, City of Chicago, Baltimore, Houston, Norfolk, Harlem USA and Newark.  Lino was also responsible for leasing over 20 million square feet of retail real estate transactions across the country, including assets in Puerto Rico and Mexico City.

Prior to joining, Thor Equities, Lino served as Senior Counsel for G+G Retail, Inc., where he managed the company’s in-house legal transactions and the company’s retail real estate growth objectives and leased over 600 locations across the country.  Mr. Solis also served as Associate General Counsel and Director of Real Estate for Urban Brands, Inc, where he helped expand and grow the company’s retail concepts, including drafting and negotiating commercial real estate transactions across the corporate portfolio, which also included partnering with local developers and city officials in opening Ashley Stewart stores in East St. Louis, Chicago, Los Angeles, Detroit, Houston, St. Louis, Cleveland, Philadelphia, Newark, Trenton, Washington, DC, Baltimore, New York, New Orleans, Virginia and Connecticut.  Total store front and mall locations exceeded over 500 locations. Urban Brands, Inc. also owned the Kid Spot, 100% Girls, Body and Soul and Marianne trade names.

Lino received his Juris Doctor degree in 1996 from New York Law School and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Howard University in 1993.  Lino is licensed to practice law in the State of New York, the State of Connecticut and the United States Supreme Court.  Lino is a founding committee member of the Center for Real Estate Studies at New York Law School, Member of Blue Nile Rites of Passage, Inc., Harlem, New York and Former Board Member of Generation Charter School, Flatlands Brooklyn, New York.
